Paul first became interested in singing as a teenager when he joined a local church choir, also singing with many other church choirs. Then came a couple of years singing with the Jersey Gleemen male voice choir and a spell in the chorus of the Jersey Amateur Dramatic Club in various productions. This led on to becoming a founder member in the chorus of the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Paul then sang with the Jersey Festival Choir and the Jersey Island Singers under Mel Davidson and Nick Cabot; this developed his love of large choral works.

More recently he has sung in various concerts with Polyphonie, under Jonathan Pollard and was also a founder member of The Cantabile Ensemble, taking part in several cathedral tours to England.

He helped to set up the small choir Vox Humana, who performed mostly early music at unusual venues throughout the year, under Stephen Kemp. Paul has just returned from a choir trip to York Minster with St Luke's Church Choir under Malcom Whittell.
