Katharine has sung in choirs all her life, starting with the Farnham Girls Choir, who sang with Vera Lynn in the Royal Albert Hall one Remembrance Day! Whilst at school she played percussion with the Surrey County Youth Orchestra, and sang alongside her mother in Bach’s St John Passion with the local choral society.

Going on to study music at Keele University she sang with the university Chamber Choir, and also played clarinet in chamber groups mostly for fun.

On arriving in Jersey she joined the Festival Choir and has sung in various local choirs ever since, also attending residential courses in the UK, and singing with The Really Big Chorus in the Albert Hall.
