Elaine

Doublet

Soprano

Elaine has enjoyed singing since her schooldays, her first choral experience being Stainer’s Crucifixion, aged 11.

She has since sung with many local choirs: the Jersey Festival Choir; the Jersey Island Singers; Polyphonie under Jonathan Pollard; Malcolm Whittell’s Voices; The Amity Singers under John and Elizabeth Farnon, enjoying many trips to sing in France; the Cantabile Ensemble under its founder Nick Freeland, including several cathedral tours in England; Vox Humana; The Holmchase Singers and more recently The Jersy Chamber Choir.

Elaine has sung with the Holmchase Singers for over 30 years, originally under the direction of its much loved founder, the late Amy Luce, now led by her daughter Angela. With Holmchase, Elaine has had the privilege of singing with Lesley Garrett and Russell Watson.

A highlight of Elaine’s singing life was being part of a trio singing Soave Sia il Vento from Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti with the Jersey Symphony Orchestra in 2016.

She has been an ad hoc member of St Luke’s Choir and joined them on several choir tours to York Minster and Winchester, as well as singing occasional services at St Luke’s.

Elaine has made many friends through singing and is delighted to be singing with so many of those friends in Jersey Chamber Choir.
